What is a Security Freeze

While active, a Security Freeze will prevent anyone with access to your BlueZebra account from exposing or editing personal identifying information, and it will also delay any new payments from being sent to any bank added to your account.

How does a Security Freeze become active on my account, and why would it become necessary

You have the right to activate a Security Freeze on your account. You would activate a Security Freeze if your BlueZebra account is compromised, your email is compromised, you lost your phone, etc. The Security Freeze prevents unauthorized access to your banking, 1099s and W9s.

To activate a Security Freeze, click on your profile picture (or the silhouette) on the upper right-hand side of the screen and select Security.

At the bottom of the page, click on "Learn more about Security Freezes."

Then click on "Freeze My Account."

You will then be presented with the following screen showing you that your account has been placed in a security freeze:

When does the Security Freeze dissolve

The Security Freeze will dissolve in 7 days from the day it was activated. Once activated, the Security Freeze cannot be removed; it can only expire.

What would be the reasons I would extend a Security Freeze, and how would I go about doing so

You would extend a Security Freeze to give you more time to secure your email and phone. To extend your Security Freeze click on "Extend Security Freeze" and follow the prompts. The Security Freeze will then expire 7 days from the extended date.

The Security Freeze will dissolve in 7 days from the day it it is extended. Once extended, the Security Freeze cannot be removed; it can only expire.
